Foods & Feeding: Herbivore - A ferocious algae eater that will clear up most green hair algae in a tank quickly. Supplement their diet with Nori and/or herbivore diets to keep them healthy.
Reef Tank Safe: Generally reef safe, but may nip at some corals or invertebrates.
Captive Care: This is one of the most sought-after fish for keeping green hair algae at bay as these ferocious eaters will clear up a tank rather quickly. Foxfaces may need to be supplemented with Nori. Being striking Yellow, these fish are a welcome flash of color for most reef tanks. The added bonus of these fish being fantastic algae eaters is something all foxface owners enjoy.
These fish do have a small amount of venom in their dorsal fins so be careful not to get stuck, the sting feels to me like a very powerful bee sting.
