Fenbendazole is the dewormer for things prazi misses — internal nematodes, planaria, and hydroids in a reef. It is also gentler on shrimp than most parasiticides, which makes it the go-to for hydroid outbreaks in coral tanks. Standard at FisHotel during quarantine when intake fish show worm signs, and used by reefers to wipe out hydroids in established display tanks.
Active ingredient: fenbendazole. Pairs cleanly with copper, chloroquine, or prazi without interaction. Safe for hard corals; some softies (Anthelia, Xenia, certain mushrooms) do not tolerate it and should be removed first. For exact dosing per gallon, see the Dewormers tab on our Medication Dosing Calculator — we keep the numbers in one place so they cannot drift across product pages.
Treats: intestinal nematodes (roundworms), hydroids, planaria, some flatworms.
Use in: quarantine, hospital tank, or display.
Reef safe: yes for stony corals; remove sensitive softies first.
