Kanamycin Flake brings the targeted gram-negative antibiotic into a food delivery format — useful for fish with Aeromonas, Vibrio, or Pseudomonas infections that are still eating, and for situations where dosing the water column would wreck biological filtration in a display tank.
Active ingredient: kanamycin sulfate (aminoglycoside antibiotic) impregnated in flake form. Fed as sole food source for 7-10 days. Stays in the gut; does not affect biological filtration. Pairs cleanly with erythromycin or nitrofurazone for combined gram-positive + gram-negative coverage. For exact feed schedule, see the Antibiotics tab on our Medication Dosing Calculator.
Treats: gram-negative bacterial infections — Aeromonas, Vibrio, Pseudomonas, ulcers, fin rot, popeye.
Use in: quarantine, hospital tank, or display.
Reef safe: yes — antibiotic stays in the fish, not the water.
