Erythromycin Flake is the targeted antibiotic for gram-positive bacterial infections in fish that still eat — mycobacterial-suspected issues, certain fin rot strains, body ulcers that did not respond to broader antibiotics. The macrolide that nitrofuran misses.
Active ingredient: erythromycin, impregnated in a flake. Fed as sole food source for 7-10 days. Does not affect biological filtration since it stays in the gut. Pairs with kanamycin or nitrofurazone for combined gram-positive + gram-negative coverage. For exact feed schedule, see the Antibiotics tab on our Medication Dosing Calculator.
Treats: gram-positive bacterial infections, suspected mycobacterial issues, some fin rot strains.
Use in: quarantine, hospital tank, or display.
Reef safe: yes — antibiotic stays in fish, not water.
