Enrofloxacin is the heavy-hitter fluoroquinolone antibiotic — reserved for serious internal bacterial infections that have not responded to first-line antibiotics. Septicemia, severe ulcers, deep tissue infections, mycobacterial-suspected cases. Not the first call, but the right call when broad-spectrum has already failed.
Active ingredient: enrofloxacin (Baytril family). Used in quarantine or hospital tank only — will affect biological filtration. Often given as a longer treatment course (10-14 days) to fully resolve resistant infections. For exact dosing, see the Antibiotics tab on our Medication Dosing Calculator.
Treats: severe bacterial infections, septicemia, deep ulcers, suspected mycobacterial infections, resistant gram-negative strains.
Use in: quarantine or hospital tank only.
Reef safe: no — will affect biological filtration and invertebrates.
