The Money or Ringed Cowrie (Cypraea annulus) is a small, oval-shaped cowrie, roughly the size of a nickel. It primarily feeds on hair and film algae found on the substrate, rocks, and glass in your aquarium. Unlike many cowries that are omnivores, the Money Cowrie is generally considered an herbivore. This active snail consumes diatoms, film algae, hair algae, and some species of cyanobacteria.
